About this app

Govt Exam Updates (Government Jobs & Exams Alert) is an independent app that gathers publicly available government job notices and news in one place. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. It is not a government app and is not affiliated with any government body.

What we collect

The app needs no account, name, email or phone number. We collect only:

a randomly generated device identifier and your push (FCM) token, plus basic device details such as model, Android version, app version and app language, stored on our servers to deliver notifications and count active users;
simple usage events — app opens and notification opens — used for anonymous statistics;
crash reports (device model and error details) through Google Firebase Crashlytics when the app stops working.

How we use it

To send the job alerts you subscribe to, to understand how many people use the app and which notifications are opened (aggregate counts only), to find and fix crashes, and to improve content coverage. We do not sell, rent or trade any data.

Advertising

The app shows advertising served by Google AdMob (banners and in-feed cards, always labelled "Sponsored"). Google and its partners may collect device information and your advertising ID to select and measure ads, as described in Google’s advertising policies. You can reset or delete your advertising ID from Android Settings (Privacy / Ads).

Notifications

Push alerts are topic based (all jobs, states, categories). You can change topics in the app’s Settings, and you can switch notifications off completely in Android system settings at any time. Turning notifications off does not delete the device record (see retention and deletion below).

Where our content comes from

Job notices are collected from the official Staff Selection Commission website (ssc.gov.in) and news summaries from the Press Information Bureau (pib.gov.in). We store only what these public pages publish, and every item in the app links back to its original source. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, these bodies.

Who processes data for us

Only the providers that run the app: Google Firebase (push delivery and crash reports) and Google AdMob (advertising), under Google’s terms, plus our own database hosting. No other third parties receive your data, and we never sell it.

Retention and deletion

Device records are kept while the app is in use; uninstalling the app stops all collection. To have the record linked to your device deleted, email mail@ariful.co.uk and we will remove it.

Children

The app is made for a general audience interested in government exams and is not directed at children under 13.
